BASKETBALL UNIFORM MANUFACTURING
FOR TEAMS FROM YOUTH LEAGUE TO COLLEGE

A basketball jersey should weigh nothing, breathe like a second skin, and survive a full season of grabs under the rim.

Rijiz Sports’ basketball uniform production runs on a dedicated 200-worker floor in Sialkot, Pakistan, with separate stations for eyelet mesh cutting, dye-sublimation heat-pressing, reinforced seam assembly, and sport-specific AQL 2.5 inspection.

Every basketball jersey and short set is produced to the same specifications: fully turned and double-stitched seams at shoulders and side panels, tailored armhole drops per size category, and moisture-wicking performance fabric throughout. Your order’s tech pack, artwork, and size breakdown are documented and stored. Next season’s reorder matches the original, same sublimation colours, same stitch construction, same fit.

Factory-Direct Basketball Uniform Pricing For Clubs, Schools & Leagues

A complete basketball uniform (jersey + shorts) from a branded retailer costs $40–$60 per set through reseller markups. Nike, Under Armour, and team shop brands add distribution margins, per-piece artwork charges, and seasonal stock premiums.

With Rijiz, the same quality, 140 GSM sublimated jersey, elastic waist shorts, names and numbers included, starts at factory cost. Teams typically save versus major brand retail pricing, with savings that increase on full team packages including shooter shirts and warm-ups.

3 Decoration Methods
Pick One Or Combine Across Your Order

All three methods run on our production floor. You can sublimate full-bleed graphics on a jersey front, screen-print a sponsor patch on the back, and embroider your team crest on the shorts, all in one order. No splitting between multiple shops.

Dye-Sublimation team

Dye-Sublimation Team

Colours, gradients, and photographic designs are heat-fused into polyester fabric at 200°C, bonding ink within the fibre rather than sitting as a surface layer. Full-bleed patterns on jersey and short panels maintain the fabric’s natural weight, a measurable advantage for players wearing sublimated gear across consecutive tournament games.

Screen Printing

Cost-effective for solid-colour sponsor logos and team wordmarks on shorts and warm-up shirts. Layered plastisol ink produces opaque coverage on dark and light fabrics. Resists cracking through 50+ wash cycles. Preferred for chest logos and side panel stripes.

Machine Embroidery

Machine Embroidery

High-density stitching (10,000–12,000 stitches per logo) for team crests on hoodies, bags, and warm-up jackets. 40-weight polyester thread in PMS-matched colours. Edge coverage inspected per logo to ensure thread does not fray after repeated washing.

4 Fabric Choices For Basketball Uniforms
Each Engineered For A Different Role

140 GSM Eyelet Mesh br(Game Jerseys & Shorts)

140 GSM Eyelet Mesh
(Game Jerseys & Shorts)

Lightweight performance fabric with a structured pinhole weave that accelerates airflow across the torso during full-court play. Each jersey weighs approximately 5–6 oz depending on size, light enough to prevent overheating but dense enough to hold saturated sublimation colour across an entire season of weekly washing.

120 GSM Micro-Mesh (Reversible Uniforms & Practice Pinnies)

120 GSM Micro-Mesh
(Reversible Uniforms & Practice Pinnies)

Ultralight double-layer construction where each side displays a separate colour, separated by an open-cell micro-mesh layer that prevents colour bleed between sides while maintaining breathability. Total reversible kit weight (jersey + shorts) stays under 10 oz for adult sizes, suitable for practice scrimmages and game-day reversible uniforms alike.

150 GSM Interlock Meshbr (Shooter Shirts & Warm-Ups)

150 GSM Interlock Mesh
(Shooter Shirts & Warm-Ups)

Smooth face on both sides with a tight knit structure perfect for sublimation graphics on warm-up gear. Used for short-sleeve shooter shirts, long-sleeve warm-ups, and track suit jackets. Provides moderate insulation during pre-game warm-ups without trapping body heat.

What You Can Customise

Every Element
From Armhole Drop To Pocket Stitching

Most basketball uniform websites offer a fixed set of sizes and styles. Because we manufacture everything from raw fabric, you control the details that affect fit, durability, and team identity. The four areas below determine how your final uniform looks and performs.

Tailored Armhole Drops

Generic uniforms use a single armhole pattern across all sizes, causing fabric to gap under the arms, especially on women's and youth frames. We adjust armhole drop per size category, and women's jerseys can be ordered with a racerback silhouette that reduces back panel width to eliminate excess fabric while maintaining full range of motion for overhead shooting.

Reversible Construction

Order reversible 2-in-1 uniforms where one side displays Home colours and the opposite side displays Away colours. Double-layer 120 GSM micro-mesh construction keeps total weight under 10 oz per kit. Specific design elements (logos, numbers) can differ per side.

Full-Bleed Sublimation Placement

Specify which team graphics appear on front, back, sleeves (or hem of sleeves), shorts panels, and side stripes. Sublimation allows unlimited colours, gradients, and full-bleed coverage. Mark exact placement for sponsor logos, player names, and jersey numbers with references.

Shorts Length & Pocket Configuration

Choose a 7-inch or 9-inch inseam. Specify elastic waistband with interior drawstring (standard) or flat-front waistband with belt loops for a more tailored look. Add side pockets if needed for practice shorts.

Our Testimonials

What Basketball Coaches And Club Directors Say

We ordered 20 reversible kits for our AAU 16U team. The double-layer construction kept the weight down, players didn’t complain about overheating during back-to-back tournament games. The armhole gap was not an issue on our taller players.

Coach Marcus Webb

Midwest Flight Basketball (Indiana)

The reversible uniforms for our youth rec league have been a hit. Parents appreciate one kit that covers both Home and Away games. The 120 GSM fabric did not feel cheap or thin.

David Torres

Northern California Kings (California)

We ordered 14 full kits for our U12 travel team. The mockup process was smooth and they caught a color mismatch in our crest that we had not noticed. Production took 18 days. Every kit arrived packed individually. The numbers have held up through an entire season of washing.

Angela Simmons

Athletic Director, Westbrook High School (New York)

I have ordered from three different manufacturers over five years. Rijiz is the first one where the bulk order actually matched the approved sample. Consistent sizing across all 15 jerseys. Consistent color. Consistent print quality. No exceptions.

Jason Park

League Coordinator, Portland Youth Basketball (Oregon)

Questions Basketball Coaches Ask Before Ordering

20 kits per design. A "kit" is one jersey + one pair of shorts. Shooter shirts, warm-up suits, hoodies, bags, and socks can be added without separate minimums. Reorders of the same design drop to MOQ 20 with no setup fees

A single set (jersey + shorts) starts at factory-direct cost, typically less than equivalent-quality Nike, Under Armour, or team shop brands. A Home & Away package (jersey + shorts + shooter shirt) at MOQ 20 saves additional per-piece charges. Contact us for a quote specific to your design and quantity.

Youth XS to adult 4XL. Men's, women's, and youth cuts are available with tailored armhole drops per size category. An 8-year-old player's jersey will not have the same armhole dimensions as an adult small.

Standard lead time is 25–30 working days from tech pack approval. Rush orders available at 15–18 days for an expedite fee. Turnaround includes design mockup approval, fabric cutting, sublimation, stitching, and packing. For teams ordering before tournament season, we recommend starting 6–8 weeks before tip-off to allow for mockup revisions and sizing adjustments.

Yes. Reversible uniforms use double-layer 120 GSM micro-mesh with separate sublimation on each side. Team logos, player names, and numbers can differ between Home and Away sides. Total kit weight stays under 10 oz.

Fabric swatch sets are free. A sample jersey or reversible uniform with your artwork costs a nominal fee, fully deducted from the final production order.

Yes. Provide PMS colour references. We match sublimation inks, screen-print plastisols, and embroidery threads to your specs. Colour consistency across jerseys, shorts, shooter shirts, and accessories is verified during AQL 2.5 inspection.

For youth leagues, 140 GSM eyelet mesh for game jerseys and 120 GSM micro-mesh for reversible/practice sets. These weights are light enough to prevent overheating during full-court play while remaining durable enough for weekly washing. Avoid heavyweight fabrics (170+ GSM) for youth, they trap heat.

We replace any item that fails AQL 2.5 inspection or arrives with a manufacturing defect. Submit photos to our support team and we arrange replacement within the next production batch. For tournament deadlines, replacement items can be expedited to match your original shipment timeline. Sizing exchanges are handled case by case.

Yes. Your tech pack, artwork, colour specs, and size breakdown remain on file. Reorders carry no new setup fees and MOQ drops to 15 kits (from 20). This is particularly useful for basketball programs running consistent summer and fall seasons with the same roster design.

4 Reasons Teams Choose Custom Basketball Uniforms From Rijiz

Tailored Armhole Drops Per Size Category

Generic uniforms use one pattern for all sizes, causing sagging armholes on women's and youth frames. We adjust armhole drop per size, men's, women's, and youth each have their own pattern. This prevents undergarment exposure and keeps the jersey silhouette clean at every fit level.

Double-Stitched Seam Reinforcement

Basketball is a contact sport. Players get grabbed under the rim, jerseys get tugged during box-outs. All side seams, shoulder seams, and crotch gussets are double-stitched at stress points to prevent seam splitting. This is the same construction approach used by premium pro-tier uniform manufacturers.

BASKETBALL UNIFORM RIJIZ SPORTS

Full Sublimation Means Zero Added Fabric Weight

Tackle twill embroidery and screen-printed patches add weight and stiffness to a jersey. Dye-sublimation adds no physical layer, graphics are fused into the fibre. A complete jersey + shorts kit weighs approximately 8–10 oz depending on size. Your players will feel the difference the first time they sprint the court in a sublimated set.

One Factory, One Colour Standard Across Every Item

Jerseys, shorts, shooter shirts, warm-up suits, hoodies, bags, and socks all receive the same PMS-matched sublimation inks and dyes. When you order a full team package from Rijiz, there is no colour shift between different garment types, because every item is produced in the same facility.

Why 140 GSM Eyelet Mesh Is The Standard For Basketball Game Jerseys

Basketball is a high-intensity, multi-directional sport played indoors with limited air circulation. A jersey made from standard interlock polyester (150–170 GSM) traps body heat because the tight knit structure limits airflow across the torso.

Eyelet mesh solves this with a structured pinhole weave, small perforations embedded in the fabric that allow hot air to escape while the jersey is still wet from perspiration. The difference is measurable: under continuous moderate activity, a 140 GSM eyelet mesh jersey allows approximately 30% more airflow across the shoulders and back compared to a solid interlock fabric of the same weight.

This airflow advantage matters most during back-to-back tournament games where players wear the same jersey for 45–60 minutes of play time. Many teams switch to eyelet mesh mid-season after players complain about overheating in heavier practice jerseys.

Eyelet mesh offers a secondary benefit for sublimation colour reproduction. The pinhole structure creates a textured surface that diffuses light across printed areas, making team colours appear more saturated on the court under gym lighting. The downside is that eyelet mesh cannot reproduce fine text under 1/4 inch properly because the pinhole gaps interrupt the ink deposit.

For this reason, player names and small sponsor text (under 2 inches) are better placed on the smooth back panel of the jersey or printed onto a separate ID strip sewn into the neckline. At Rijiz, we document your artwork and flag potential legibility issues during the tech pack review stage, before production begins, so your numbers and names are never compromised by the fabric structure.

Reversible 2-in-1 Uniforms
What Double-Layer Construction Means For Weight And Breathability

How Reversible Uniforms Are Built?

A reversible basketball uniform consists of two separate fabric panels stitched together at the seams, one side in Home colours, the other side in Away colours. The two panels are joined at the armhole, shoulder, and hem by single-needle flat-lock seams that lay flat against the skin to prevent chafing.

An open-cell micro-mesh layer is inserted between the two panels to prevent colour bleed from one side transferring to the other during washing. Without this separation layer, dark sublimation ink on Side A would migrate through the fabric and create a ghost shadow on Side B after repeated hot-water washes. The open-cell structure also creates an air channel between the two layers, which improves breathability compared to a single-layer jersey of the same total weight.

Weight Considerations For Game-Day Reversible Sets T

The most common objection to reversible uniforms is weight, two layers of fabric plus the separation layer can make a jersey feel like an insulated vest. The solution is fabric GSM selection. Standard reversible uniforms use 150 GSM per layer (300 GSM combined). At Rijiz, we use 120 GSM micro-mesh per layer (240 GSM combined, plus the 20 GSM separation layer  260 GSM total).

This reduces complete reversible kit weight (jersey + shorts) from approximately 14 oz to under 10 oz for an adult large, a 30% weight reduction that matters during the second half of a competitive game. Coaches who order reversible sets for their teams should expect a slightly lighter feel on the body compared to single-layer game uniforms, but the trade-off is eliminating the need for separate Home and Away kits.

Armhole Drop Tailoring
Why Generic Uniform Patterns Fail Women's And Youth Players

basketball-armhole-drop-fit

The armhole drop is the distance from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the armhole curve. In most generic uniform manufacturing, a single armhole drop is used across all sizes within a category, an adult small has the same armhole dimensions as a youth large. This works for adult men’s jerseys where shoulder width and torso length scale proportionally.

It fails for women’s and youth jerseys because female athletes have narrower shoulders relative to their torso length, and youth players have significantly shorter torsos with undeveloped deltoid muscles. The result is fabric that gaps under the arm, exposing undergarments or creating an untucked look that coaches dislike on the court.

basketball-pattern-block-fit-white

At Rijiz, we maintain separate pattern blocks for Men’s, Women’s, and Youth size categories. The women’s block reduces the armhole drop by 1.5 cm across all sizes compared to the equivalent men’s size and narrows the shoulder width by 2 cm, with a racerback silhouette option for closer fit across the upper back.

The youth block reduces overall torso length by 4–6 cm depending on size and decreases the armhole drop by 2 cm to prevent sagging. These adjustments add approximately 15 minutes of pattern setup time per order, a cost we absorb as part of the standard tech pack review. The result is a jersey that fits each player category correctly without exposing undergarments during jumps, reaching, or defensive slides.

For teams with mixed rosters (e.g., a combined men’s and women’s program ordering through a single purchase order), we flag the size combinations that trigger a pattern change before the order goes into production.

Sublimation Weight Advantage
Why Full-Bleed Graphics Should Not Add Bulk

Every gram of non-fabric material on a basketball jersey adds resistance to vertical jump height and lateral acceleration. Tackle twill embroidery, screen-printed vinyl numbers, and heat-pressed patches each add 0.5–2 grams per application depending on size. On a jersey with four applications (chest logo, two numbers, sponsor crest), the added non-fabric weight can reach 5 grams, negligible for one jersey, but meaningful when every player on a 15-player roster wears the same decorated kit for a full season.

A 5 gram difference across 15 players equals one additional pound of resistance the team carries during sprints, cut drills, and fast breaks.

sublimation-vs-decorated-basketball-uniform

Sublimation eliminates this entirely because ink particles (approximately 0.02 grams per square inch) bond at the molecular level within the polyester fibre. There is no raised layer, no extra weight, and no stiffness. A fully sublimated jersey + shorts set in size adult large weighs approximately 7–9 oz depending on fabric GSM (5 oz for 140 GSM jersey, 3–4 oz for shorts). The same set with tackle twill names, screen-printed logos, and heat-pressed numbers would weigh approximately 9–11 oz, a 20–25% weight penalty from decorations alone.

For tournaments where teams play multiple games in a single day across high-intensity rotation, the cumulative weight savings from full sublimation reduces fatigue over the course of the event. This is why professional-tier basketball programs use dye-sublimation exclusively for game-day uniforms.
